Luscious Garage opens in a SOMA warehouse.
Carolyn Coquillette invoiced the first customer the week the first iPhone went on sale. Hybrids were the new technology then, and most shops would not touch them.
You see what we see before you say yes.Earthling Automotive has been fixing hybrids in San Francisco since 2007. Same people, a bigger building, and these days Teslas alongside the Priuses.
Two names, two buildings, and an owner who had her own shop software built because nothing else showed customers their repair.

2013

The shop software of the day dated from the 1980s, so she had her own built: online, paper-free, with photos customers could see. It became Shop-Ware, and thousands of repair shops run on it now.

The shop moved to 615 Bayshore Blvd and became Earthling Automotive, on the bet that Tesla would be what the Prius was in 2007.
Today

The same people, two minutes off the 101, working on the cars San Francisco drives now: Teslas, Priuses, Leafs, Bolts and every hybrid drivetrain.

Carolyn opened Luscious Garage in 2007, when hybrids were new and most shops would not touch them. The shop software of the day dated from the 1980s, so she had her own built: online, paper-free, with photos customers could see. It became Shop-Ware, which she founded in 2013 and still runs as CEO. She still walks out to the lot to scan a code herself.

What that means at the counter
The people who answer the phone, write the estimate and work on your car.

The rules Earthling runs on, and what they mean for you.
A twelve-year-old hybrid with a tired pack is sometimes worth one more year, and a Bolt that needs its recall belongs at the dealer this week, not here. We'd rather lose the ticket than sell you something you don't need.
High-voltage recertification and tooling updates happen on paid time, and Jack's whole job is keeping the crew current. Everyone sits the training, apprentices included.
Every figure on this site comes from Earthling's own repair orders in Shop-Ware. When we say the small battery is usually the problem, that is thousands of repair orders at this shop rather than an opinion.
Good espresso, fast wifi, plants, and a window onto the bays so you can watch your own car being worked on.
A painted wall on Bayshore, a gate with the Electric Vehicle Service sign, and a lobby with more plants than parts. Two minutes off the 101 and 280.

Pick a real slot online, or text or call and someone at Earthling's front desk will pick up.
